2024 Malasada Day Event ReCap

“Incredibly Grateful” perfectly describes the overwhelming feeling of seeing all the volunteers show their incredible dedication and hard work displayed during our recent fundraising event. Without their selfless contributions, our success would have been an impossible dream.

It was 3:30 a.m. in the morning, and our volunteers were already bustling about, setting up food prep stations and cooking stations and preparing for the day ahead. They were hard at work, ensuring everything was in place for an unforgettable event.

The aroma of freshly made malasadas filled the air as our volunteers expertly covered them with sugar, transforming each one into a delectable treat. Students, parents, and faculty worked tirelessly, packing hundreds of dozens of boxes, each destined to bring our patrons joy.

To our patrons, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. Your patience and unwavering support, as you waited for a taste of our famous malasadas, did not go unnoticed. Your enthusiasm and appreciation fueled our volunteers as they continued their labor of love.

And finally, we express our deepest thanks to our Malasada Committee. Your leadership, organization, and unwavering commitment were the driving force behind the success of this event. Through your efforts, we have strengthened our financial aid program, ensuring that the legacy of Damien Memorial School continues to thrive so our families in need receive the support they deserve.

Together, we have made a “Damien Difference.” Together, we have touched the lives of those in our community. And together, we will continue to make a positive impact for years to come.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your dedication, generosity, and unwavering support.
