Building Community Leaders starts with Volunteering

Lo‘i Kalo Mini Park Restoration

November 6, 2021: Key Club Volunteer Project

Student members of Damien Memorial School Key Club spent much of their weekend giving back to their community by volunteering their time and effort to restore a little known Lo‘i Kalo Mini Park in the heart of Kalihi.

Following in the example set forth by Saint Damien, the namesake of our school, and Blessed Edmund Rice, students from the Key Club experience the rewards of contributing to a greater cause.

As one of the cornerstones of a Damien education, our Christian Service requirements builds upon the idea of developing students as a whole-person – ethically, morally and spiritually – in keeping with our school motto: “Viriliter Age” (Act Courageously).
