Online Class Tomorrow with No Expectation for Anyone to be on Campus.

Aloha Damien ‘Ohana,

I am writing to inform you that we will hold classes online tomorrow (Tuesday, December 7) with no expectation for anyone to be on campus. With the impending heavy rain this afternoon through tomorrow morning, we cannot predict what affect that might have on our physical campus. Today there were a number of students who arrived to school late because of traffic as well a number of families who chose to keep their child at home.

For everyone’s safety, we will hold all classes online tomorrow following the normal B day schedule as if we were on campus. Don’t forget that Wednesday is an observation of the Holy Day of Obligation and there is no school. The rest of the week will go as previously scheduled. We will see everyone back on campus on Thursday as, at this time, better weather is predicted.

Emergency Information from the City & County of Honolulu:

On Oahu, the City of County of Honolulu opened four shelters as a precaution. They are:

  • Kalakaua District Park, 720 McNeil St., Honolulu;

  • Makaha Community Park, 84-730 Manuku St., Waianae;

  • Sunset Beach Recreation Center, 59-540 Kamehameha Highway, Haleiwa;

  • Kailua District Park, 21 S. Kainalu Drive, Kailua.

People are asked to bring their own food, water, bedding, toiletries and supplies. Additional shelter locations may be opened depending on the severity of the storm, city officials said. Pets are allowed and must be kept in a crate. The animal’s owner is responsible for any food and supplies the pet may need.

Please stay safe and dry.
