Star Crossed Country Run-in.

Midway through our recovery run, we stopped for what I had thought was going to be a quick bathroom and water break at Honolulu Hale.

As we were exiting, we ran into Sam Moku, a Damien grad and also the Chief of Staff to the Mayor. As we were talking story, Augie T just happened to pass by and said hello to us. As we were finally getting ready to carry on with our run, another lady came out and asked if we wanted to meet the Mayor. The students faces immediately lit up and of course, they said yes! This is definitely a run I know the students will remember.

Prior to today, the students had no idea who our Mayor was and after we left, they mostly talked about how amazing an experience it was to meet the Mayor for most of the run back. One student even said, "I can't believe I got to shake both the Bishop and the Mayor's hand all in the same week." &) Upon arriving back to campus, a few even bragged about how they got to meet the Mayor to the rest of the team to which some replied, "No fair!"
