DAMIEN HUI OHANA PARENT CLUB
GENERAL MEETING
The years a student spends at Damien Memorial School are not just a part of their educational journey but also a family experience. Even now, as my parents are well into their senior years, they fondly recall the wonderful times we shared during my high school years.
High school can be a challenging phase for teens, but it also offers countless opportunities for parents to connect and create lasting memories with their children. The Damien Hui Ohana, invite you to their first general meeting of the year. This gathering is not just a chance to get to know other families but a wonderful opportunity to begin building those cherished memories with your child.
The DHO is a group of dedicated parent volunteers whose mission is to bring families together through various family-friendly events like Homecoming, BINGO Night, and Movie Night. We also support the faculty and staff by volunteering at events like Back to School Night, Malasada Day, and Teacher Appreciation Week. This year we’re excited to be expanding adding some family events that will be centered around the holiday season.
All families are invited to come to our first General Meeting of the school year on Tuesday, August 13 at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria. Our featured speakers will be our principal Dr. Pua Higa, who will update us on all the changes that happened on campus over the summer, as well as our new CFO Tasha Sawai. Please join us that evening to find out more about the DHO’s plans for the 2024-25 school year. If you have any questions, email us at huiohana@damien.edu or click on the Damien Hui Ohana link under the Parents/Students tab on the DMS website for more information on who we are and what we do.
Wishing a safe and blessed year to all our students, families, faculty, and staff.

Want to sing along to your favorite Disney movie or travel on an adventure with your favorite explorer? Then make sure you donate so your class can win! Donations will be accepted at morning drop-off, so please consider donating and helping families in Hawaii who need little extra in these hard economic times. Mahalo for your kokua!
DHO General Meeting

Annual Thanks & Giving BINGO Night
The DHO would like to invite you to our annual Thanks & Giving BINGO Night. We understand the last few days have been difficult on campus, and you might not feel like gathering for an event like this. We are all grieving this loss, but also feel a night like this can help bring families together and help with the healing process.
This is the time of year to be thankful for what we have and to give back when and where we can. Admission is free with the donation of canned goods and additional cards may be purchased for $1 for 2 cards with the proceeds going to Catholic Charities, who have been a presence on campus helping students and faculty through this difficult time.
Doors open at 5:30 pm with bingo starting at 6:30 pm. Project Grad 2024 will also be on hand selling dinner and food items. Please consider coming out to support their efforts to help make graduation something very special for a senior class that is grieving. Mahalo!
Host Breakfast for Faculty and Staffʻs first day back on campus
Damien Hui Ohana will host a special Continental Breakfast for the returning faculty and staff on their first day back on campus for the 2023-2024 school year.
