Message from the President
Aloha kakou!
It’s t-minus two days and counting until the start of the 2023-2024 school year!
First – I trust you had a restful and restorative summer. We are thrilled to begin this journey together and are looking forward to an exciting and enriching academic year.
While you were on break, our team has been hard at work laying the foundation for a new era at Damien Memorial School. Certainly, our collegiate partners and rigorous coursework will be evident. This year, we are also proud to foster two essential dimensions that will define the student experience:
Catholic-Academic Integration: Faith is the foundation upon which our school community is built. We believe in infusing our Catholic tradition and theology into every course at every grade level. Our dedicated faculty members strive to create an environment where students not only excel academically but also deepen their understanding of faith and its relevance in their lives.
- Through prayer, reflection, and meaningful discussions, we aim to instill values such as compassion, empathy, and integrity. As we integrate faith into our daily activities, students will have the opportunity to explore the connections between their academic pursuits and their spiritual growth. Our goal is to empower every student to embrace their unique gifts and use them for the betterment of the world around them. The Virtuous Cycle of Gratitude: Gratitude is a powerful virtue that can transform lives. This year, we are embracing the gratitude as a guiding principle in our school community. By cultivating a genuine sense of gratitude, students will learn to appreciate the contributions of others, recognize their blessings, and develop a positive outlook on life.
- Through various activities and initiatives, we will encourage students to express gratitude to their teachers, peers, families, and the community. This cycle of giving and receiving will not only strengthen the bonds within our school but also empower our students to become compassionate and caring individuals.
